1/3 + 1/6 is 1/2 plus 1/2 is two plus .25 plus .2 is 2.45

the best way to do it would be to find a least common denominator

1/1+1/2+1/3+1/4 +1/5 +1/6=

60/60+30/60+20/60+15/60+12/60+10/60=  60+30+20+15+12+10 / 60

                                                          = 147/60=2 27/60=reduce to

                                                                        2 9/20
