  1. First of all Shawna Mama doesn't know what she is talking about...

The common spammer just "harvests" email addresses from free email providers (Yahoo, Gmail, AOL etc). and then fakes the email headers to show  the email as coming from you in order to hide their own server and email. As long as you have a strong password, numbers and letters and mixed case, you really don't have anything to worry about.

One of my email addresses is being used by a spammer in Russsia (only on weekends) and on Monday mornings when I check my email, I have several hundred "undeliverable" emails  (all to Russian email addresses) in my spam folder. They all say I sent it. My ISP recognizes it as spam and not orginating from me.

It is all to common these days. Don't lose any sleep over it.

  2. Yes a hacker broke into your computer and has probably sent the same viagra email to thousands of computers. You need to check and clear your computer of spyware and make sure you change all your passwords. Also make sure your password isn't too obvious. You should also report this problem to the email company you have your email under so they can look into it. The people who hacked your computer are crooks and can be fined and jailed if caught. Good luck!
