An extra day in the Cinque Terre or Cote d'Azur (Nice)?

We have an extra day to spend in either Cinque Terre, Italy or Cote d'Azur (Nice), France. If you had to choose where to spend that extra day, what would you do? Wouldn't the south of France be more expensive? They are both beautiful places, but I have been to Cinque Terre before.

  1. When I went to France last summer I too had a few extra days and we ended up going to Nice. The awesome thing about Nice is you are about 10 minutes by train to Monaco. Monaco was amazing! The train ticket was only about 4 Euro, and you can spend half the day in Nice and the other half in Monaco. To be honest we really didn't spend that much money in either places. We walked around the city a lot and hung out at the beach, if you just want to relax for the day I would go to Nice. There is a promenade and you can spend a couple of hours just walking along the beach, great views and great food too. We probably spend about 15 Euro each for lunch and about 20 Euro for dinner, which isn't too bad. But have a good trip! -Jake

P.S, you are charged to change your clothes at the beach and to use toilet paper, it was only about a Euro for both so make sure you have some change...
