  1. I do agree that the taste of vengance is oh so sweet, and very tempting at times. But usually, if you dont do anything at all, the wrong doers will get what they deserve anyways in the long run. and you wont have anything at all to do with it. (AT LEAST NOTHING THAT CAN BE PROVEN.) Thats my story and I'm sticking to it!

  2. An eye for an eye attitude is always acceptable.  If a person commits a crime that person should be punished.  For murder he should be killed by the state - official execution should be the punishment for a crime where a life has been taken.

  3. Well Buddy, In my opinion, it very much depends upon the situation. Or more precisely, it depends upon how offensive the other person has been to you or could it be forgiven. In extreme circumstances, it really becomes difficult to let go of the things but in most cases, to ignore and to forgive has worked for me. I mean I have seen it happening around me that even the nastiest of the fellows felt a little embarrased at their conduct when they didnot reveive an eye for an eye attitude from the other end. Instead, they received the same warmth as if nothning actualy hapened!! So, its actually about which kind os situation you are into!!

  4. It’s all about forgiveness. If you have forgiveness in your

Heart then you don’t feel that “get even” urge what goes around

Comes around they will get theirs in do time anyway.

  5. I think if someone assaults you you should be allowed to assault them back.

Or if somone breaks into your house you should be allowed to kick the sh*t out of them.

I have made the mistake of calling the police when I have been a victim of crime, and the person walked away scot free.  I should have arranged for some "Boys" to pay him a visit and kept the police out of it.

  6. An eye for an eye and the whole world goes blind

  7. perhaps if we used this more (short term) we would have to use it less long term

  8. An eye for an eye is acceptable when dealing with legitimate wrongs...murder as opposed to self defense, burglary as opposed to aggressive used car salesmen, etc..

You must also recognize that most of the "laws" on the books are not about crime...they are attempts at social engineering through speed limits, morality laws, "blue" laws, and the like.  These laws were set up so that one special interest can control the population in some way.  In the example of "blue" laws, there has probably never been a case where a person has not been able to buy beer on Sunday morning, and has gone to church instead...it doesn't happen.  In the case of these laws, I believe that some sort of punishment is in order for the writers of the laws.

  9. eye for an eye = mob mentality

I don't think that mentality can ever be justified. That way of thinking doesn't consider the circumstances surrounding the crime, if a loving husband kills his terminally ill wife is in so much pain - does he also deserve to die?
