An important question about left-handed hitting, plz help???

I am a righty and I am learning how to hit from the left side of the plate. I have been practicing for a year now. The problem I have is that I can't get the head of the bat quick enough to drive the ball. So, the ball always go to the left field as supposed to the right field. I was thinking is it because my left hand is not strong enough so when I bat left, I can react to the ball fast enough to pull it to right field. What can I do to improve that so I can hit the ball hard to the right field??? Please reply if you know how can I correct that!!! Thank you!!!

This is a very hard question to answer.  How old are you is the first question.  I learned how to bat lefty at ayoung age when my muscles were still growing.  Now that I'm 14 they are still growing.  Once you get to the age of 17 or so you won't be able to learn switch so easly.   First thing I would say is start strengthening your left arm and your let leg.  This will help you get more power.  Remember how you bat right handed and try to use the same mechanics as you do right handed as left.  Try bunting left handed and get used to the speed, this helped me get the timing down.  Keep practicing kid.  I remember at age 8 I didn't swing right handed once that year, just because I wanted to be ichiro, now I don't even bat righty that much, which was kind of stupid.  Always practice both after you mastered both, my mistake was never practicing right anymore, and now I can't bat too well right handed.

im not really having the same problem, im learning to switch hit and i always just hit grounders. not behind the ball like you though, i suggest practicing your timing. itll probably different than your righty timing, but thats really all you need to do.

i jsut need to get the ball in the air haha

use an open stance,lighter bat and possibly a inch shorter bat and go to the batting cages and practice pulling the ball if you follow those instuctions you will definetly start pulling the ball .good luck
