An independent Ulster or Northern Ireland?

Does British society really want anything to do with Northern Ireland anymore,with the union under threat from independent parliaments etc can Northern Ireland still exist as part of the union? with Protestants living in Northern Ireland as a majority and that majority against a united Ireland, is the best option an independent ulster or Northern Ireland,ruled by people from Northern Ireland with no influence from Republic of Ireland or England Scotland or UK in general.

Personally, I believe that an Independent Ulster would not be a bad idea. In fact, I welcome it. We need to become our own nation and take our place amongst the nations. Northern Ireland for the Northern Irish. Not for the Irish or the English. For us. According to the UN, every nation has the right to self-determination and if that is so, then surely Northern Ireland has a right to be independent. Also, Northern Ireland is so unique compared to both Ireland and England. We are not Irish or English or anything else but Northern Irish. Our culture is so different from that of the South - we have different values and ethics that set us apart from them. Everything in terms of religion, culture, values and morals - we are different. Republicans will argue that we are all Irishmen - we are not. We are Ulstermen and that is something very, very different.

Northern Ireland should be an independent nation as it is a non-offensive way to have Catholics and Protestants living together. If Ulster remains part of the UK, Catholics will not accept it. If Ulster becomes part of the Irish Republic, then Protestants will not accept it. Essentially, Northern Irish independence is the only true alternative to civil war and sectarianism. Can we not put our differences behind us and celebrate our Ulster identity?

Northern Ireland will have its freedom!

The majority of people in N.I. are nationalist, but this is a recent development and a lot are not yet of voting age.

The whole of Ulster needs to join the rest of the island in a Republic, as the Majority of people want that. It was only through threats and false democracy that the whole Island didn't become a Republic 80 years ago, basically to keep the then English conservative party in power.

Those who truely love Ulster want it returned to it's natural state of Irish rule.
