Question:

An indoor grass patch for my dog?

I have seen indoor artificial turf products for dogs go for 100$+. Is there a cheap way I can build one on my own? It sounds dumb but what if I just get one of those large pet trays, put down some soil and throw on some grass seeds?

I take her out 3x a day but sometimes I get home late and she had a little accident! She is well behaved most of the time, its just that sometimes she can't hold it and I would rather she had the option of some grass than my carpet! I don't want to crate or fence in my dog because this happens so rarely and she also gets very upset at being confined.

  1. I've been investigating this idea, and the one thing I can add to the above thread is that oat or wheatgrass grows best indoors. Apparently normal grass seed for lawns needs the amount of light you would get from, oh, say, the sun. I'm going to try oat with the above idea of lining the tray with cat litter. Thanks!
