I found this mouse on the side walk in New York. It already had hair and seemed to be alive enough to take inside and hand feed. I think that maybe food got in the nose and from there the lungs, as I was over zealous in feeding. I put ripe mushy banana on the end of the Q tip and allowed him to approach it, which he liked. Twice it looked like the mouse got way too much ripe banana in his mouth and may have had trouble swallowing as he was moving kind of funny .I'm thinking that may have gotten in nose too. But he was still alive for five to 7 hours hours after that second banana feeding. He had regular bowl movements so I was pretty sure toxic waste was not the cause. He just died last night and I was attached .Just buried him under a tree. Life goes on, but I would still like to know what happened. This was my first time trying to save a mouse. Thanks ahead for your feedback!!!

  1. If he was dying he probably just died

  2. the mouse sounded diseased and was probably going to die anyway even if you hadnt saved him, its not your fault

  3. Once my sister founf 3 baby mice on a baseball field and we took them home. They lived for 3 days and then died.  Baby mice need milk with a little bit of water in it. They don't eat actual food until they are about 3 weeks old.

  4. You know that animals can get diseases and maybe he was born with a worm or some kind of fate full disease. JUst remember that it was just nature and you probably helped the mouse live longer. Whatever happened was not your fault.

  5. The mouse might of already had another diesease that was killing him. But you tried to save it, so don't put your self down because you did the right thing.
