I want to get an ipod, and i have a job so i can save up money. the thing is i have an old school ipod shuffle and i really need to update it because the thing is pretty much broken.it only holds like 120 songs anyway - its really c**p. i listen to it a fair lot and i know that if i get a better ipod i will use it a lot, so im not sure whether to get an 80gb ipod classic that can hold like 20,000 songs or whatever, which costs about 320 in australia, or an 8 gb touch, which will be about $400 and will hold about 1750 songs.

FOR THE TOUCH

i really like the idea of the ipod touch - its cooler and newer, and easier to use.it can do more things than the other one and its bigger in size. i know it won't become obsolete any time soon.

AGAINST THE TOUCH

right now i have about 950 songs in my itunes library and im worried that if i get the touch my songs (the amount of which is constantly growing) won't all fit on there eventually. on the other hand, there are a few songs on my library that i don't really listen to that much so i could probably leave them off. its also more expensive.

FOR THE CLASSIC

the classic is just like a normal, easy to use ipod that i know i will probably be less scared of breaking because there's not as much screen. it can hold WAY more songs and i could put other stuff on there. its cheaper.

AGAINST THE CLASSIC

it may become obsolete, or a newer model might be released quite soon. it can hold a lot of songs but im not sure that i need it to be able to hold 20000 songs.

which one do you think i should choose?

  1. I definitely prefer the Touch because it has so many more features, especially with the new AppStore. I bought it right when it came out and have used it everyday since. However, it is worse if you use music alot because you cant change songs with it in your pocket (you cant feel a click wheel, like with other iPods) and it doesn't have as much memory. It's much thinner than a classic aswell. I'd buy the iPod Touch any day.

But whichever you choose, make sure you wait a month because an iPod refresh is due in September. Hope I helped your decision.

  2. Go for the Classic.  If if holds more songs, why would you pass it up for something "cooler?"  Well, that's my two cents...

I also like that you came up with the point about less screen that's likely to break.

  3. for querry clearification visit http://www.gadget-freak-me.blogspot.com

it solved all my querries. a really nice site.

  4. idk but ive been trying to figure this out myself, ive been leaning towards the ipod classic because i feel like ill run out of space fer all my music and the classic can still do video and stuff
