the question that I'm working on is

8 2/3 to 5 1/4

I'm supposed to turn this into fractional form and simplify it, I know I have to somehow combine these numbers but I can't for the life of me remember how, and the book doesn't have an example (guess I'm supposed to know) can you help?

  1. Multiply each by twelve. So they can be whole numbers. turn into fraction and simplyfy.
