  1. Yes I remember that one the young boy does the Charles Atlas postal course and after years of studying the course finally meets Mr. Atlas.  He did some caber tossing and hammer throwing if I remember right, with the immortal words of his mother ringing in his ears 'mind and wear yir long underwear now as yir kilt can fly up when yir tossing'.  Is that the one you are thinking of?

Bill Travers played the adult strong man; putting aside the difficulty the young buy would have in getting money to pay for the exercise programme

  2. Geordie starring Bill Travers a brilliant film!!

  3. A wholesome family film, with some laugh out loud moments along the way, was entertaining, and far too good for it's unknown status. Story of a young boy who falls into an old shaft and therein he discovers a mythological Greek figure by the name of Mr. Atlas and the boy's family adopts him. Only in the midst of this miracle, a business tyrant and his dim-witted brother have a settle to score with the family which leaves the film wide open for some funny slapstick and funny dialogue. Robert Shafer is a standout and is unlike I have ever seen him before, playing a character who is slightly mentally challenged, who has some very funny moments

  4. Was that not wee geordie or something like that? The guy that was in Born Free? Can't remember? Move over Wee Geordie, maybe? It's about a skinny kid who lives in the Highlands who ends up an olympic athlete thanks to strong man books he gets as a kid.
