an open ended pipe has an internal diameter of 0.35m an dis 3.0m long.

determine:

1) the cross sectional area

2)its circumference

3)the volume of the pipe

4)the internal surface area

the pipe is flowing part full of water. the water surface subtends an angle of 110 degrees at the centre.

  1. 1) 3.14x0.35x0.35/4  = 0.0962 m^2

    2) 2x3.14x0.35/2 x3   = 3.297 m

    3) 0.0962x3                 = 0.2886 m^3

    4) Intrnal surface area is the same as the answer in 2 above.

  2. you didnt even mantioned the pipe thickness. its most important if you are calculating the cross sectional area,  and if you want to calculate the circumference, try this, Dia X 3.1416,  to calculate valume of the pipe,  suppose internal dia Radius is X and outer dia radius is Y, now try this.......

Give me your e-mail address i will explain, how to calculate all that what you want. my e-mail is kkggmistry@yahoo.co.in
