Give an answer and tips if u have them and when i say small snake i mean nothing over 6 inches.i am only going to keep the snake for a week or two so it will stay pretty small. and i will only keep spider for a week or two to watch it. i just like watching snake and spiders eat i find it fun.and no specific spider just one i can catch like a wolf spider or one of the big black and yellow one that i see in the big webs between bushes.

if you were getting a pet i would say too many logs, and you need a UV light for snakes and toads, for a toad you need a half land and half water set up, the tank is too big for you to observe a spider of the size you want, but to be quite honest if you are going to catch a snake or toad the chances of you watching it is slim as wild caught ones get really stressed and will not eat, do you really want to upset a wild animal the stress alone could kill it so my opinion would be to leave them where they are and watch from a distance, in most places it is illegal to take a wild creature from its natural habitat, i know this is not what you want to hear but if you want to do the right thing by the creatures leave them where they are
