An overview of Tomas Berdych’s 2010 performances
Born on September 17, 1985 in the city of Valasske Mezirici, the professional tennis player from Czech Republic, Tomas Berdych is currently ranked number eight in the world by the ATP. The right handed Tomas was a finalist in the grass court Grand Slam tournament at the All England Club this season as well as a semi finalist at the 2010 clay court French Open championship. He reached his world number eight spot back in July, 2010.

Tomas later on shocked the entire tennis world when he knocked down the Swiss tennis master, Roger Federer in the 2010 Sony Ericsson Open championship with a final match score of 6–4, 6–7(3), 7–6(6). He then went on to beat the Spaniard tennis ace Fernando Verdasco, to confirm his spot in the semis, in a total of three sets. Berdych dominated the semi final match against the fifth seeded Robin Soderling and got the better of him with a final match score of 6–2, 6–2. However, he was hammered down in the final by Andy Roddick, 5–7, 4–6.
He started off his clay court season by contesting at the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters this year and made it into the third round of the tournament before falling down to Fernando Verdasco in a total of three sets.
At the clay court Grand Slam French Open tournament this season, the eighth ranked Berdych performed at his very best as he made it into the semi final round where he was hammered down by the fifth seeded player, Robin Soderling in a five setter clash. On his way to the semis, he knocked down a total of three seeded players; John Isner in round number three, Andy Murray in round number four as well as Mikhail Youzhny in the quarter final round.
