An unusual gift?

I missed Father's day this year and I feel so bad about it, but theres a birthday in the family this month and I was going to just celebrate them together. And I need ideas for unusual gifts to give my Father. Just something different. He is 43, has been in the military, likes horses, Christian, very moral, and laid back. He just likes to make people smile and feel great around him. I am already making him a home-made card since those are his favorite... but I HAVE to get him a gift and just can't be something "ho-hum" traditional.... any ideas??

Make  a memory jar. Get an old mason jar and decorate the outside. In the inside take  pieces of paper and write words, saying, events, etc. that can be nostalgic  to both him and you.
