  1. Her forehand is very similar to Steffi Graf's, except that Ivanovic uses a semi-Western grip while Graf uses an Eastern grip.  But they both hit it a little late, and whip through the shot by breaking the folcrum in their swing, kind of like a buggy-whipping action, which is how they generate racquet-head speed.  Graf's was much more extreme in this sense, but if you compare their forehands side-by-side you'll see the similarity.  Sania Mirza also hits her forhand that way, and she too hits with a lot of pace.

  2. she has very good timing, good raquethead speed, steps into the ball, and makes sure she uses her core muscles

  3. a combination of immaculate racquet head speed and putting her weight into the shot.

  4. she issss a pro

    racket control

    eye contact

    she is veryyy powerful

  5. its got to do with her timing, and the positioning of her forearm and wrist, before during and after contact. also her body weight and balance and cantre of gravity play an eggect on the power. shes so still at point of contact, that all her enery is transported through her body and out her hand and arm to achieve maximum power.

    yes :)

  6. She has a great ability to flatten her forehand out. When she does this, she drives through the ball instead of brushing up and she finishes her swing. Her racquet is in front of her as she hits the ball and you see that she directs her racquet towards where she intends to hit her shot instead up pulling up too soon midway through the swing, and follows through.

She also takes the ball early (hits on the rise) so the ball hasn't lost too much of its pace after the bounce.
