Ana Ivanovic eager to break back in the Top-10 list – Tennis News
Former world number one, Ana Ivanovic, is eager to break into the list of elite players once again in her professional career. She has the ability to do that especially in the ongoing Wimbledon Championship where she showed immense
stamina and courage to devastate the in-form German tennis ace, Julia Goerges, from a set down state.
She was criticized for a slump in her form ever since her relationship with the famous golfer, Adam Scott. However, the two separate at the start of the new season which has definitely written a new fortune for the Serb tennis
starlet who has been spectacular with her performances in the past six months.
Ivanovic was ranked world number one in 2008 after she won the French Open Championship in Paris. However, it brought bad luck for the 14th ranked Serb who dropped out of the Top-20 players by 2011 and couldn’t find
her way back. Struggling with injuries, the Serb tennis ace was just remembered as the gorgeous looking tennis beauty and not for her classic aggressive game style. However, she has revived the memory of glorious days and has been consistent with her performance
throughout the season; climbing to the 14th spot in the world rankings.
The 24-year-old Serb commented on her recent performances, “It's very peculiar, and sometimes a bit complicated, because you're very often together, even more than with your boyfriend or family. It's a very intimate relationship.
But it's funny in a way, as it's the player who is boss. With a man, that makes for more of a friendly relationship. Women are more emotive than men, and their temper is more variable. I have a good relationship with Nigel; we know that we're pursuing the
same objectives."
She is up against the second ranked Belarusian tennis ace, Victoria Azarenka, in a clash for a place in the last eight of the tournament. If she manages to overpower the former world number one from Belarusian, she will definitely
boost her odds of grabbing another Grand Slam Championship of her career.
Old Ivanovic is back in form and that’s the best news for women tennis fanatics.
