Ivanovic, who is currently world number 16, put perfect four smashes one after another during the first game of the set. However, she later committed two foot faults and lost a point but so did her opponent.
The 28-year-old Benesova was able to get 7% more of her first serves on mark as compared to Ivanovic, but lost most of her points because of a poor performance in her second serve, making it only a 33% win in the second serve points
and an average 52% win in her total service points. However, Ivanovic had a superb performance in her first and second serve and won 77% and 67% respectively which later amounted to a 72% win in her total service points.

break points. Hence, Ivanovic won the set with a total of 32 out of 54 points, making it an above average 59% of her total set points.
In the second set, Ivanovic had mastered her serving skills and won a 100% of her first serves but in the second set her serve slipped and she was only able to win 38% of her second serves but she had a 68% win by the end of the
total service points.
Moreover, Ivanovic had a sturdy defence and did not allow a single break point opportunity to her opponent, instead, she was able to break Benesova 2 out of 3 times, making it a 67% win, which she capitalised on.
Benesova’s defence failed her when it really mattered and had 0 out of 12 points in her first return and although, she managed to get a 62% win in her second return the overall score dropped and she was only able to bag 32% of
her total return points, against Ivanovic, who had a commendable 57% of her total return points.
