Serbian tennis icon and former world number one, Ana Ivanovic, has found a formula to enjoy the hectic tennis schedule instead of criticising it all the time. She teamed up with her compatriot and reigning world number, Novak
Djokovic, in the Hopman Cup last year and learnt the traits of enjoying playing tennis by men’s style of play.
Talking about her experience of playing alongside a male partner, she said, “That was really refreshing getting to play alongside Novak and seeing how differently he functions. It was interesting to watch how much fun he
had and how much he enjoyed his tennis. You could just tell he was going to have a great year."
She stated that it will be good for women to relax during the game and take it as a sport, not as a matter of life and death. If a player enjoys his play, she is definitely ought to perform a lot better than playing in hostile
or stressful situations. She accepted the fact that male players are much more concerned about enjoying their tennis rather pressurizing themselves with multiple thoughts about titles, competitors etc.
Ivanovic took her time out to socialize and enjoy her tour Hopman Cup tour. She called Sorana Cirstea as her best friend that helped her gather a lot of memorable moments attached to her visit to Perth, Australia. She stated,
“It might be hard for us to support each other because the tour can be very competitive. Maybe it's getting a bit better than when I started. The girls are a bit more relaxed, but it's still not the same as the men's side of things.”
Former world number is currently ranked at number 22. She rounded off the 2011 WTA (Women’s Tennis association) season in majestic manner retaining her Bali title and sending a strong message to her opponents that she is
back in business, hungry for more titles. She kicked off her new season with world’s nine of the top ten performers at Apia Sydney International, Australia but was ousted in the very first round in a disappointing manner.
Ivanovic will definitely look to catch eye of most of tennis fanatics across the globe with her terrific game play. She will look to resume her professional tennis from where she left at Bali and look to flabbergast her rivals
especially the top ten contenders in the first Grand Slam title of the year, the Australian Open.
