Anaheim Ducks come with an impressive 3-0 victory against the Colorado Avalanche

One of the interesting games of Saturday was the Colorado Avalanche playing host to the Anaheim Ducks at the Pepsi Centre. The match was expected to be a very tight and interesting encounter which was the 784th game of the 2010 Compuware NHL Premiere
Series.
A massive crowd was present to the witness the match who unfortunately saw the home team losing 3-0 in the end. Both teams were pretty much equal going into the final period where the Ducks scored twice to win the match. Corey Perry, winger of the Anaheim
Ducks was rightfully named the star selection of the match for the hat-trick he scored on the night.
Anaheim Ducks dominated the game right from the start from the start to the end of the period. The offence saw them nearing the goal every now and then and the defence restricted the opposing to almost nothing during the period.
Although Colorado Avalanche made a few goal attempts in the middle part of the period but they were from long range and didn’t see them scoring. Chances came regularly for the Anaheim Ducks on the other hand and they finally took the lead with a goal in
the 14th minute scored by Corey Perry from a well placed flick shot.
The period saw Anaheim Ducks continuing to attack but no further goals were scored as the period ended with Anaheim Ducks leading 1-0 as they made 10 goal attempts in the period while Colorado Avalanche was restricted to only 3 goal attempts.
The second period of the game saw both teams come out and attack right from the start till the very end. There were several chances as the period started and it looked a goal would surely by scored. However, both goal keeper did an excellent job to keep
their goals safe and didn’t allow any goals early on.
There were several brilliant pieces of play as the period progressed but unfortunately no further goals scored. Though both teams offence was very strong too but the defence was able to cope with the pressure which was put on them.
The period heated up as it neared its end with both teams attacking. The puck was seen going to and fro on the pitch but still no goals were scored as the period ended with Anaheim Ducks still leading 1-0. During the course of the period Anaheim Ducks made
11 goal attempts while Colorado Avalanche made 12 goal attempts.
The final period started off on a high for the Ducks as they scored through Corey Perry in the 2nd minute from a brilliant backhand shot to double their lead. There were several chances for both sides as the period moved on but no goals were seen.
The defence of both teams was again on top and restricted the offence to almost nothing during the remaining part of the period. Anaheim Ducks were definitely stronger of the two teams while attacking. The away side sealed the match as Corey Perry completed
his hat-trick with a goal in the final minute from a decent strike. The match and the period ended with Anaheim Ducks winning the match 3-0 in the end. During the final 20 minutes of play, Anaheim Ducks made 8 goal attempts while Colorado Avalanche made 10
goal attempts.
