Anaheim Ducks’ forward Bobby Ryan not looking to go out of American during the lockout
Bobby Ryan, a professional international ice hockey player from America, who plays for the Anaheim Ducks in the National Hockey League (NHL), has decided not to go to any other team outside his country and will be staying with the Ducks during the NHL lockout.
Since the NHL lockout announcement on 15th September, hundreds of players have left America and joined different leagues in different countries of the world. Most of them joined their native countries league as Russian players joined Kontinental
Hockey League (KHL), Swedish players joined Elitserien Hockey league (SEL) and Finland players joined Finnish league.
The 25-year-old forward made it clear that he will train with the players, he will for wait for them and he will skate with them when they come back. He thinks that running away from the lockout situation is not the right way to go and he will face it by
staying here in America, as he said while talking to the New Jersey Courier Post,
"I'm going to continue to skate with the guys. Whether it's coming back here (to South Jersey) for a couple weeks at a time. I think it's important to stay here (in the United States) and be part of the solution and not just run from it."
He thinks that he should deal with the things the way they should be as he added,
"I'm going to handle things the way I think things should be handled”.
The Cherry Hill, New Jersey was drafted by the Ducks, who were named Mighty Ducks of Anaheim then, selected second overall in the first round of the 2005 NHL Draft. But he kept playing in the Ontario Hockey League’s Owen Sound Attack and made his NHL debut
two years later for Anaheim Ducks.
The Silver Medallist of the 2010 Winter Olympics Games with the United States Hockey Team has been one of the highest scoring players in the last 5 years and had his best season in 2010-2011 when he scored 71 points in 82 games. He also has not missed a
single regular season game in last two seasons and has been a very consistent player.
