Anaheim Ducks looking to strengthen their team with arrival of Jonas Hiller and Teemu Selanne
The Pacific Division in Eastern Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL) has by far been toughest of all the divisions in the league. All of its teams are very well prepared, having strong players on the roster.
Last year, three of its teams, Phoenix Coyotes, San Jose Sharks and Los Angeles Kings had difference of just two points between them. But another team in the division that would be looking to give these three teams a tough time and a challenge is Anaheim
Ducks.
This year, they are looking to make their team strong and bring some players in which could make difference. One of the reasons of Ducks’ bad performance last season was that they did not have their alternate captain Teemu Selanne with them, who had taken
retirement but now he is back and would be looking to uplift his team.
They would also be looking for their goaltender Jonas Hiller to join the team again soon, who has some experience behind him and will surely make difference.
Last year Ducks experienced one of the worst run ever in the league, after which they replaced their coach. They removed Randy Carlyle as the coach and brought Bruce Boudreau in for him, which resulted in some betterment and went on to go very close to the
playoffs berth and but could not get it. They finished last in the Pacific division.
Ducks’ captain Ryan Getzlaf talked about his team’s bad run last year in the Orange County Register as he said,
"It's the first time I've ever been up against something like that. I've never been part of a team that struggled the way we did at the start of the season. I learned a lot from it and hopefully how not to duplicate it."
Teemu Selanne, who would making a comeback is also confident of doing well for the team as he said,
"I still feel that I have something to give and that I can still play on this high level. Even with the tough first half we had last year, I still enjoyed the game so much."
