Anaheim Ducks win 6-3 against the Nashville Predators to level the series 2-2 – NHL Play-offs
The all important, fourth game between the Anaheim Ducks and the Nashville Predators was played at the Bridgestone Arena this Wednesday which saw the Ducks winning comfortably 6-3 in the end.
The Predators were leading the series 2-1 and expected to win this game due to the home ice advantage. However, the Ducks outperformed them to win the game and level series 2-2.
An explosive start to the game was witnessed where there were shots on goal right from the word go. There were some spectacular plays which saw the Ducks scoring two goals in two consecutive minutes to lead. However, the Predators scored in the same minute
to keep in touch with the Ducks. There were fewer shots on target during the second period but the Predators scored twice during the period compared to one goal scored by Ducks that effectively levelled the score. The Ducks totally dominated the final period
and scored three goals to win 6-3 in the end. Corey Perry, winger of the Ducks was named the Star of the Game as he scored a goal coupled with two assists.
The Ducks were on the charge early on and came across a power-play that saw them scoring in the fifth minute through Cam Fowler from powerful strike. The Ducks kept on piling the pressure and scored once again in the very next minute through Saku Koivu from
a well placed flick-shot to double the lead.
The Predators knew that they have to score as soon as possible so that the Ducks do not run away with the game. This is exactly what they did, scoring in the sixth minute through Patric Hornqvist from a powerful strike.
The period ended with the Ducks leading 2-1 as they made 16 shots on goal while the Predators made 12 attempts.
The Predators were the team that came across a power-play early on and scored in the sixth minute through Joel Ward from a tip-in shot. The Ducks were also awarded a power-play that saw them scoring in the 12th minute through Teemu Selanne to
get back into the lead.
However, the Predators scored once again through Matt Halischuk to level the score on 3-3 as the period ended with the Ducks making nine shots on goal while the Predators made seven.
The final 20 minutes of play witnessed the Ducks dominating, as they scored through Corey Perry in the second minute and then through Captain Ryan Getzlaf in the fifth minute to get into the lead. The Ducks kept on knocking the door and struck the final
blow with a goal in the seventh minute through Brandon McMillan.
In the end, the Ducks won the game 6-3 to level the series on 2-2 as they made 13 shots on goal while the Predators could manage just three.
