What device can one buy that changes the signal from tape and LPs to wav files?

You can get a capture card that has a usb plug and mic input on one end, and a set of rca plugs on the other end. If you want just audio, use only the red and white rca plugs. When buying a card, don't cheap out if you have the money! Don't get one with a whole package of unnecessary free software, but buy a descent unit.
