Analysing the Gunners front line this season – Part 4
Article Continued from Part three of the article…
The striker needs to address these problems and improve if he wants a regular place in the starting line-up. Another negative aspect of Chamakh’s game is the fact that he tires out quickly and has received very little playing time in the latter part of the
season due to his fatigue.

Highs of the season: The tall Moroccan has certainly had his moments of glory in the first half of his debut season as he chipped in with some very crucial goals for Arsenal in the absence of Robin Van Persie. The match against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952 was the
highlight of his first season at Arsenal where he scored twice, once in the opening minute and then once again in the last few minutes to gift Arsenal a 2-0 win over a difficult team. His aerial ability meant that Arsenal could change tactics anytime and flood
the box with good quality crosses from both wings.

Lows of the season: He spent most of the second half of the season on the bench due to the terrific form that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380 was in. Although he had a good start to the campaign, he started to fade out as the season progressed. He has attributed
his loss of form to the recent fatigue that he has been suffering and although that is of serious concern, Arsenal fans are hopeful that he will be able to shrug off this problem and come back next season, even stronger and more threatening to defenders.
Carlos Vela

The young Mexican has had a disastrous season with Arsenal this campaign due to the fact that he has not been able to rack up enough playing time on the pitch to display his wide array of technical skills and abilities.

He was used as a cover striker early in the season when both Van Persie and Bendtner were injured and contributed some useful goals to Arsenal’s cause but since then he has faded. Due to the lack of opportunities, he was loaned out to West Bromwich Albion in
the January window.

Even at West Brom he has not received sufficient playing time and has spent most of the season on the bench putting his future as an Arsenal player in serious doubt. With the news of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 in the market for another striker, chances that Vela will get to play
are looking very bleak.

Although the youngster has heaps of talent, he has not been given sufficient opportunities to showcase his skills which some observers believe are not suited to Arsenal’s style of play. The 4-2-3-1 formation does not fit the Mexican because he is not a lone
striker but a support striker who can complement another target man very well.

Arsene Wenger insists on his current formation and is very rigid when it comes to tactical plans. If the same lone striker formation is insisted on by the Arsenal manager then http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Carlos-Vela-c8558 will never be given a chance to fulfill his potential at Arsenal and
may seek a move away from the Emirates.
