Analysing the Gunners front line this season – Part 5
Nicklas Bendtner (9 goals in all competitions and 8 assists)

The Dane had suffered from an injury early in the season and due to superb form of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marouane-Chamakh-c24294 since his summer signing, Bendtner had to be content with a place on the bench for the Gunners when he achieved full fitness. The tall confident striker was
unhappy with his extended spell on the bench and there were several rumors circulating in January linking him with a move to the German Bundesliga.

However, after much persuasion from the Arsenal manager, Bendtner decided to stay with the Gunners and was extremely important for them in their run in to the final of Carling cup. He scored a hat-trick against a difficult Leyton Orient side and has chipped
in a decent number of goals this season taking into consideration the fact that he has been at times, the third choice for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429.

He has expressed great frustration due to the fact that he has been used as a right winger whenever he comes on as a substitute and has not been used in his preferred position of center-forward.

With the playing opportunities limited for the Arsenal striker, there is a good chance that he will depart the Emirates this season, and his performances have so far not persuaded even a single Arsenal fan that he deserves a place in the Arsenal squad.

The one huge problem with the Dane is that he is a loudmouth. He is always going around talking big and keeps on saying how talented he is and how great a striker he is and how he should be playing for Arsenal day in day out. But whenever he has been called
upon, he has failed to seize the moment and has never impressed. His attitude is one major problem that he needs to address.

Highs of the season: http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nicklas-Bendtner-c27726 scored his first hat-trick of his Arsenal career against Leyton Orient with three well taken second half goals. He has displayed immense talent at times and has displayed his goal scoring ability like when
he scored the second goal against Orient. His goal against Ipswich in the Cup was a mix of pure footballing skill and talent and it won his the “Arsenal Goal of the Month” for the month of January.

Lows of the season: This was considered to be the season where the Danish striker finally fulfills his true potential and gives justice to his own words proclaiming him the best striker in the world. But unfortunately, he has not stepped up
to the plate due to injuries and poor form. His poor form can be attributed to the fact that he has received very little playing time and has been mostly used for the cup competitions. His frustrations at being played out of position on the right wing have
caused him a serious dip in form and the best of him did not turn up this season.

What he would never want to remember in this season is the miss against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 in the second-leg of the UEFA Champions League at the Nou Camp. His goal would have put Arsenal in the driving seat on the away goals rule. Bendtner was put in on goal by a glorious
pass from out right and he failed to gather his composure and scuffed his shot from inside the penalty box with only the keeper to beat. This miss cost Arsenal dearly as they went out of the Champions League to Barcelona for a second time in 2 years.
