Anand Pawar aims to break into top-40 bracket in Men’s Singles world rankings
India’s talented player Anand Pawar, who is in tremendous form at the moment, is confident to break into top-40 bracket in Men’s Singles world placements in a period of few weeks.
The 25-year-old Pawar suffered with an injury and had to withdraw from competing in the title match of Dutch International yesterday, on April 15.
Pawar, World Number 63, was a little disappointed for not participating in the final match but he knows that he is in a position to get more ranking points while playing in the upcoming bigger events.
He felt pain in his abdomen on the final day and upon the advice of doctor, Pawar did not play the title match against Andre Kurniawan Tedjono of Indonesia to avoid an aggravation of his injury.
Pawar is optimistic that he will get a higher world ranking in a few months and is expecting to reach into top-40 positions in the world in Men’s Singles category.
He was impressive in the court in the last couple of weeks and defeated many top shuttlers in his way to glory at French International 2012 and Dutch International 2012.
Now he is looking forward and is quite hopeful to participate in the his home championship of India Open Super Series, which is set to take place from April 24-29 in New Delhi, India.
While talking about his possibility of playing in the upcoming Super Series tournament at home, Pawar said that he is optimistic that his injury is not that worst and will participate in India Open.
He said, "Yes, I think so. Atleast I hope so. I'm leaving from here on Monday so will know more about the injury when I'm back home in India. I think I will be ready by then.”
Pawar wants to prove his worth in upcoming tournaments of India Open and Malaysia Open Grand Prix Gold as it will help him getting a better world ranking.
He added, "I want to do well in India Open Super Series and Malaysia Grand Prix Gold. I am hoping to break into the top-40 in next few months."
Pawar thinks that his injury is not that worst and he will be able to participate in the forthcoming events and will continue doing well to raise his world ranking.
