Anand Pawar clinches Men’s Singles title at French International 2012 – Badminton news
India’s experienced player Anand Pawar ended his title draught in an emphatic fashion as he clinched Men’s Singles crown at the French International 2012 on Sunday, April 8, in France.
In the final encounter, Pawar proved his supremacy and overpowered Malaysia’s upcoming player Misbun Ramdan Mohmed Misbun.
The Indian, who has been struggling hard to get a breakthrough, finally got it at the right time as it will boost his confidence in the upcoming India Open Super Series, which will take place in India at the ending week of current month.
Pawar, who was third seed in Men’s Singles main draw of French International, showed his positive and elevated skills in the court and overpowered Misbun Ramdan in straight games by consuming only 34 minutes.
On the other hand, the young Malaysian could not cope up with the planned and positive game of his Indian opponent and lost the contest without taking any game from his rival.
In the opening set, Misbun Ramdan gave a good fight to his experienced opponent and remained close to him in the opening half.
In the meanwhile, Pawar started his run in a relaxed but quick manner as he did not let his spirited opponent to dominate the pace of game.
Until the mid-game break, the higher ranked Indian was slightly ahead on the board.
After the interval, Pawar geared up his speed at net and pushed his opponent to a defensive position. He controlled the bird at net and created opportunities to execute powerful smashes.
The Indian played with precision in the concluding phase of first game and ended it with a 21-16 score on the board.
Pawar continued his impressive play in the second set and managed an impressive lead until the mid-game interval.
After the break, Misbun Ramdan could not bridge the gap as his Indian opponent was playing on a different level.
Pawar was fully focused in the game and won the second set without facing any interruption by a margin of 21-10.
The Indian grabbed the Men’s Singles title by taking the final match with a 21-16 and 21-10 score on the board.
