Anand Pawar finds a good start in Men’s Singles qualifying round of Singapore Open Super Series
India’s experienced player Anand Pawar started his campaign in a dominating manner at the Men’s Singles qualifying round as he ousted Malaysia’s Misbun Ramdan Mohmed Misbun at the Singapore Open Super Series on Tuesday, June 19, in Singapore.
The Indian shuttler, who has been working hard to earn good results for getting a good world ranking for the last one-year, showed his elevated skills against Misbun Ramdan and easily won the battle with a decent score.
The in-form Pawar showed his brilliance in the court and moved his young Malaysian opponent in all areas of the court and eventually won the fight in straight games by working well in the court for just 34 minutes.
On the other hand, Misbun Ramdan also played competitive badminton but failed to control his nerves on crucial points. He played with wonderful spirit but failed to overpower his rival due to lack of experience and crashed out at the qualifying stage.
In the first game, both men started their journey in a positive manner while playing to their maximum potential. They were close on the score board until the one-minute interval in the opening set.
After the break, Pawar employed his experience and started to keep the bird low while playing safe game. He was fully focused in the court and managed to take the opening game from his rival with a 21-18 score on the board.
In the second game, Pawar showed his class when he injected impressive power in his shots and also played attacking strokes which helped him to take a superb lead of 11-5 on the score board until the one-minute mid-game interval.
After the break, Misbun Ramdan surprised everyone by playing incredible badminton as he took over the control from his rival and started to narrow the gap.
The young Malaysian played positive and flawless game and took a reasonable lead of 16-13. However, he lost his focus and started to play wrong shots which helped Pawar to find a good rhythm.
The Indian got the control of rallies in the concluding phase and took the game with a 21-18 score on the board.
Pawar won this Men’s Singles battle in Singapore Open in just 34 minutes with a reasonable difference of 21-18 and 21-18.
