Anastasia Chervyakova knocks out Yulia Zapolskaya in semi-final fight at European Universities Games
Russia’s young and aggressive shuttler Anastasia Chervyakova landed a title berth after proving her worth in Women’s Singles semi-final when she knocked out her lower ranked compatriot Yulia Zapolskaya at the European Universities Games-Badminton Individual Tournament 2012 on Monday, July 16, in Spain.

Third seeded Yulia, on the other hand, had no answer to the spirited play of her higher ranked compatriot as she could not put up good show in the whole contest and lost it in just 36 minutes without snatching any set.
In the first game, it was Anastasia who controlled the pace of rallies and dictated her challenger in all areas without losing her focus.

Until the mid-game break, Anastasia was leading the score board with a huge margin.

In the following game, Yulia changed her tactics and started to execute fast drop shots but failed to take any advantage as her rival was quick in taking the bird close to the net.
