Anastasia Zueva claims Women’s 50m backstroke gold – Swimming news
Anastasia Zueva of Russia claimed gold medal of the Women’s 50m backstroke on sixth day of the Swimming events at the 2013 World University Games in Kazan, Russia on Monday, July 15.
The Russian swimmer devastated hopes of her opponents in the shortest backstroke discipline as she cruised her way towards the finishing end for gold medal. With her impeccable pace, she remained in a prominent lead over her challengers and emerged on the
finishing wall for gold medal.
With her unstoppable pace, she remained prominently ahead of her closest competitor as she transpired on the finishing wall for gold medal by producing a n effort of 27.89 seconds.
The gold medallist was chased by Aliaksandra Herasimenia of Bulgaria, who was only 0.12 second slower from her foregoing finisher and tapped the wall with the timing of 28.01 seconds.
The second best finisher was chased by Madison Wilson of Australia, who stayed 0.32 seconds slower and surfaced on the finishing end by clocking a time of 28.333 seconds.
Fourth fastest qualification spot of the event was secured by Tran Cindy of USA, who was only 0.12 seconds apart and settled on the finishing end by clocking an effort of 28.45 seconds.
Fifth fastest qualification spot of the discipline was obtained by Daryna Zevina of Ukraine, who stayed only 0.13 second slower and touched the wall with the timing of 28.58 seconds.
Sixth fastest spot of the discipline was obtained by Elena Gemo of Italy, who was 0.12 seconds apart and clocked an effort of 28.70 seconds.
Subsequently, Gemo was chased by Hoi Shun Stephanie AU of Hong Kong, who was 0.13 seconds apart and concluded her swim in seventh place by producing an effort of 28.33 seconds.
Eighth fastest spot of the discipline was obtained by Klaudia Nazieblo of Poland, who was just 0.01 seconds away from upsetting her former finisher and tapped the wall with timing of 28.84 seconds.
In addition, Zueva was extremely happy with her top finish in the race. Furthermore, the position holders received medals and accolades for their notable efforts at the prize distribution ceremony of the event.
