  1. Capillary: a small blood vessel.

    Vasoconstriction: Artery constriction

Vasodilation: When arteries are fully expanded

    Hypertension: excess cardiac blood pressure

systolic blood pressure: the pressure with which blood is leaving the heart.

    Hypotension: low blood pressure

  2. hemodynamic - dynamics of blood (movement of the blood)

capillary - place of oxygen, water, carbon dioxide, nutrient and waste exchange in the body (smallest vein)

lumen - the channel of a tubular structure ie. the blood flows through the lumen of the arteries and veins.

vasoconstriction - constriction of the vascular system (veins)

vasodilation - dialation of the vascular system (veins)

    hypertension - high blood pressure

hypovolemic shock - shock caused by low fluid volume in the body

systolic blood pressure - the pressure that is exerted on the arteries when the heart contracts ie. the first number reported - a blood pressure of 120/80- the systolic is 120

    hypotension - low blood pressure

orthostatic hypotension - low blood pressure when you change positions from laying to sitting to standing

    occlusion - blockage

thrombophlebitis - clot in an inflammed vein
