Anbody that is enrolled in k12 online courses?

Question

You know how they let you borrow a lot of materials?

Well they let me and my sister borrow a computer and a printer/fax machine/scanner. So we have 2 of everything. Me, my sister and my parents had to sign a contract stating that we could only use the computer for SCHOOL ONLY*

The problem is me and my sister DO use the computer for school but we also go on myspace and youtube. Do you think they will find out? What could happen if they do find out? I'm getting worried that something really bad can happen. Is there anything I can do so they won't know that we were using the internet for other purposes. (This is my first year of online courses by the way)

If you know anything or been through a similar situation please answer.

You must be using a charter public school.  K12 is a private company, and sells its materials to schools and citizens.

The only way your sister will be "found out" is if they check the computer when it is returned.

OTOH, this is a good time for your sister to learn personal responsibility.  A contract was signed...she need to adhere to it.

It's for school *only* because the pc belongs to the SCHOOL.  Not to you and your sister.  You can use your family's personal computer for other things.

If you leave a trail on the hard drive and they check it, yes, you can be found out.

Instead of worrying you'll be caught, you should instead learn moral responsibility by adhering to the contract your parents signed.

What will happen if you get caught should be outlined in the contract.  Most likely it will mean they will kick you out of the virtual school.

well, if they had you sign a contract saying that you could only use it for schoolwork and they knew where you were going they wouldn't make you sign the contract would they? plus they probably don't have the time to inspect every single computer to see who has kept their promise and who hasn't. but still, you shouldn't have done that. by the way, YAY CAVA (california vertual acadamy)!!!!!!
