Ancelotti hints at Chelsea exit
Chelsea manager, Carlo Ancelotti, has hinted that he will leave Stamford Bridge if his side fails to qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
The Italian claimed that UEFA Champions League is the best competition in the world and he would not want to manage a team who is not in that competition.
He said, “We know the Premier League is now very tough for us but we want to play in the Champions League next year, it is the most important thing for everyone. But I am an optimist and I believe my team has the quality [to finish in the top four]”.
The Italian boss added that he cannot even think of Chelsea featuring in the lower European competition. The former AC Milan boss insisted that competition has increased in the Barclays Premier League, which will make it difficult for the Blues to finish
for the elite European competition.
Chelsea has been finishing in the top four of the Barclays Premier League for the last eight consecutive seasons. Last time, the Blues failed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League was back in 2001-2002 season.

If the London team fails to qualify for next year’s Champions League, then it is widely expected that Carlo Ancelotti would become the seventh manager to be sacked by Chelsea's owner, Roman Abrahomovich.
Chelsea had a fantastic start of the 2010-2011 season and they were also favourites to defend their title.
However, their mid season poor form slumped them to the fifth position.

Carlo Ancelotti, who has won Premier League and FA Cup in his first season with Chelsea, is now aiming for the top four spot and is hopeful that his new signing, Fernando Torres, will help Chelsea achieve their target.
The Italian boss of the Blues, who dropped Drogba and played Torres in Chelsea’s goalless draw against Fulham, has insisted that both strikers would be played up front in near future.
“He [Torres] is a striker like Didier but it is not right to say they are in competition, they are in collaboration. They have to work together to help bring the team in the best position.” said Ancelotti.
