Ancelotti never wanted Ballack to leave
In a recent interview Michael Ballack has gone ahead and stated that the current manager of Cheslea, Carlo Ancelotti was never on par with the board’s decision to let the German midfielder leave the team. The player went on to state that Ancelotti had made
him a part of his future plans, however when he was asked to leave the team he was not surprised as it was something the board wanted to do.
Ballack left Chelsea at the same time when players like Joe Cole, Ricardo Carvalho, Juliano Belletti and Deco also left the team. The major clear out at the club was reported to be a part of a giant overhaul which would see Chelsea head into a new era. Along
with that the sales of these players has also gone ahead and saved Chelsea as much as twenty million pounds in wages every year.
When asked about his move from the Blues Ballack responded by saying: “We had lunch together. That was the time when the club told me that we would not sign a new contract”
“Yeah, we spoke about this and I had the feeling that he was a little bit surprised but in the end, that’s football, and that’s what I said.
“It had nothing to do with the relationship with me and the coach or the players or the club. I am professional enough to accept the decision. I have to move on and the club has to move on.”
The player as it appears seems to have successfully moved on from the past; however it is Chelsea that seems to really be missing the player this season. The team has missed out on the likes of Frank Lampard for a major portion of the season and with Ballack
missing the team currently has no one who is capable of playing down the middle of Stamford Bridge.
The decision to let the German midfielder go, is something that is definitely coming back to haunt the Chelsea board as the team has over the last couple of weeks struggled without a solid central midfielder.
Nonetheless with Ballack gone, it appears as though the only thing for Chelsea to do now is to go shopping in the next transfer window.
