Ancelotti stays calm despite uncertainty over his future
Carlo Ancelotti, the Chelsea manager remains impervious to talks over his future at Stamford Bridge and insists on the welfare of his squad.
The Premier League champions got off to a promising start this season and looked well on course of retaining their credentials as the top team in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749. However, the Blues seemingly have lost their way in the woods; failing to register a win in their past
7 encounters. The prevailing ‘dark ages’ see http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 6 points adrift of League leaders Manchester United who also have a game in hand over their title rivals.
Emphasizing on the importance of waking his players from the recent slumber, the Italian felt that his future was merely secondary. Monday night, Ancelotti’s men dealt a fresh blow as they went down at the Emirates Stadium against a spirited Arsenal side.
While the score line read 3-1 at the end of 90 minutes of football, it was little reflection of Chelsea’s lack of coordination on the pitch. It only took an inspired http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Petr-Cech-c29837 to keep the final score respectable as it was argued that the Gunners could have
easily managed to score at least half a dozen goals.
Recognising defeat, the Chelsea manager was quick to credit Arsene Wenger’s men as the better side of the day. The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan coach added that their London rivals were superior in every department – be it mere finishing or retaining possession in
midfield.
''The difference was the quality. Arsenal put more quality on the pitch than us. They were able to play with the football. They played better than us.” reflected Ancelotti.
The Chelsea boss further commented,
''We didn't play well. We're in a difficult moment. We need to try and win the game against Bolton. We have to continue to work. We worked well these last two weeks. We didn't have a good performance today but we'll try in the next game.”
From these words, it is apparent that the Italian is optimistic of a brighter future. Moreover, the recovery process only starts with acceptance and Ancelotti clearly recognises that. From a third party point of view, it takes a man of real substance to
admit things are wrong on his watch especially when the Russian owner is sceptical over his credentials.
Reflecting on the bigger picture, Carlo Ancelotti concluded:
''The table is not good but this is the reality. We have to wake up. Now we are sleeping.''
