From the UK.

How much does it cost per year & do you get every Country in the World, USA, AUS, NZ, Canada etc. and is it really worth the extra cost, I have ancestors in all those Countries. I have Ancestry UK & wanted to branch out. Many thanks in advance.

  1. I have the world deluxe membership, and I think it's amazing, I pay  on a monthly basis, I have the option to cancel at any time, and I have access to any information stored on the ancestry data base.

On the home page of both ancestry.com/.co.uk there is a search bar just scroll down it and click on the country you wish to search, it's really easy and in my opinion well worth every penny of the subscription costs.

  2. I'm from the US, so can't speak to the cost in Britain. But I have the membership and I find it's great for the US, Britain and Germany.

It's not great for Canada, but there is some good stuff there. The problem is that Canada is just too vast and has never unified their records in one central location. So we get more from Quebec than all the other provinces. Ontario is really hit and miss. By the time you get to Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan, there isn't much at all.

Australia is also sketchy. There just has never been a push by Ancestry to aggressively seek licenses for Australia and the rest of Oceania. New Zealand has very little, if anything, on Ancestry that will help you do a good search there.  Likewise, you won't get much of anything for Spain, Portugal, Mexico, Italy, Switzerland, the Balkans, Greece, the Middle East, Central or South America.

  3. I have the deluxe version I paid nearly £200.00 and it is worth every penny,  I am working on some odd names and I have found lots of info, ancestry is one of the best sites around.

  4. As ItsJustMe said you can pay monthly this is £18.95 for the World membership, and the annual amount is £155.39.

    Hopes this helps.

  5. If you go into your account - it will give you an upgrade price as it can be different for everyone.

  6. I have the World Deluxe membership from the US ($29.95 a month. Not sure what that would be in British pounds), and it definitely worth it. You can use the same user name/password in all their affiliate sites from the US to Sweden. The page layout is basically the same, so you don't need to speak German or Italian to look someone up. In fact, I've had a few cases where I can't find someone listed on the US site, but CAN find them on the Canada or UK site.

This site has a section on Fees/Payments and how it works:

    http://www.ancestry.co.uk/legal/Terms.as...

The  other affiliate sites are in the US, Canada, Australia, Germany (listed as DEUTSCHLAND), Italy, France, and Sweden (SVERIGE).
