Alright, I'm having some trouble here.
The concept of wedding rings came into practice in Ancient Egypt, and the Romans popularized it. I keep seeing references to it being an all-culture thing for thousands of years, the concept of a symbol of ownership and continuity, but I can't find on specifics on Ancient China in particular. Not necessarily widespread, but the symbology is what I'm looking for here.
If this wasn't a custom there, what was in its place? When did it come into practice?
