Ancient Crystal Skulls; What's your take?

I have been hearing about ancient crystal skulls lately and I think its an interesting topic - a little different from mainstream paranormal activity.

These crystal skulls, found near the ancient ruins of Mayan and Aztec civilizations (with some evidence linking the skulls with past civilization in Peru) are a mystery some consider as profound as the Pyramids of Egypt, the Nazca Lines of Peru, or Stonehenge. Some of the skulls are believed to be between 5,000 and 36,000 years old.

What's your opinion on this phenomenon?

I remember seeing or reading something about crystal skulls.  (I wish I could remember where.)  As i recall the owner made dubious claims when attempting to sell it.  First there was one skull, then more cropped up seemingly out of nowhere.  Some were said to be very old, but have been shown to be machine-made.  Their provenance is disputed.

It's not impossible for the Mayans to have carved a skull.  However, to jump from that possibility to some of the claims that have been made is pretty ludicrous.

They are beautiful objects though, aren't they?

I think there are probably a set of original quartz ones, and many thousands of copies made of them from anything ranging from stone to highly sophisticated 3D machining.

People say they took hundreds of years to make, but I dissagree. I'm an engineer and can see how these could be made within a week.

Firstly Quartz does melt. Like the copies that followed, this could have been cast in a sandstone mould from liquid quartz. After this has cooled and been chipped out, using an abrasive of sand in flowing water, you can erode any shape you like from rock, metal or glass. Steel up to 4" thick is machined thesedays using water-jet-cutting for very high accuracy cutting. A more primative method could shape crystal by fast erosion - leaving no tool marks. This can be seen by sea washed glass - after only a few weeks glass is rounded on the beach by sand action, after months - a rounded pebble is formed.

The question is - why did they do it?

I've heard of these before too.

I remember one time I went to a "psychic fair". A guy who said he was a shaman told me to grab something out of a bag that felt good. I did. It turned out to be a skull! I screamed & dropped it. He said it wasn't a bad thing. He said it meant that I was drawn to intelligence and intelligent people. Could that be why I'm "drawn" to THIS section??? lol

Simply mysteriously grand!Its always difficult for me to get pass the point with other people that we are not the only ones.we are so immature an reckless with our planet ,now,why would they be so silly to trust us with all of the skulls at one time? .I'm feeling since they can't get any of the time lines right, dating them is probably pushing them to the edge.Theres so much we don't know about other civilizations before us...they cant even tell the truth about UFOs..An watch out for the religious views?Ya never know.....may be Jesus was a carver of crystal too!with God as your father anything is possible?Blessed be.............!

Once again you challange the mind with challenging questions. .

The crystal skulls go way beyond anything we could conceive of today. They are perhaps not of this world, I do not know, but I do know this.

The ancient Summarian texts which are written in a language that is so advanced, they use words and expressions that we in our English language cannot express or even comprehend. The language is called Sanskrit.

To make a long story short, the ancient epics written by the ancient Summarians in Sanskrit, speak of and show pictures of astronomers looking at astral maps of  the heavens and there are clearly 12 planets shown.

My opinion is they are a hoax(surprise).Fortunately,I can back my opinion up with some evidence and facts.Or rather,I can say where to find the evidence and facts.I agree with peter they are beautiful.I'd love to own one.

I think there is more skulls out there and i have located ancient reuiens in central and south america just by using google earth

What I have heard is that this skulls takes over 200 years to make with old means working day and night. And this only to make one!.With our means its takes about 90 years so its impossible that any of the old civilization we known could have made those. However some believe a far older unknown civilization made those and maybe were more developed than we are now.
