Ancient EgyptVS The Sumerian Civilization?

i need to write an essay on this so can some one just help out and give me sum key differences and maybe a layout or organizer. o and im in 9th grade so no 17 letter words lol

Okay, first off, Sumeria was BEFORE the biblical flood (as there are historical documents concerning the flood and cities established before the flood as well) as well as after.  Their religions were NOT similar (unless you consider polo theism the major similarity).  As far as architecture goes, they were both highly advance.  Recent discoveries in Iran have found that open brain surgery was created in Sumeria, although Egypt was well known for it as well.  

Culturally they were similar in that they were monarchies and both assumed their royalty descended from a divine line.

Culturally they were pretty different.  In the Old Kingdom (Egypt) women had more equality (in that they could chose their own marriages).  In Shahri Sokhta (the Burnt City), they've discovered that women may have had power over the economy within the household.

Egypt was around for a LOT longer (I believe the Sumerians were overthrown by the Hitties, but you might have to do your research on that.)

sumerians were overthrown by the hittites? this proves that you need to get away from places like yahoo answers and wikipedia and delve into books and scholarly journals. incidently, it was the sumerians who were absorbed into the akkadian culture. hittites lived in anatolia far later in time and had nothing to do with the sumerians.

Get out somebooks and read!  This is to teach you how to think and make evaluations on your own.  Not for cribbing off others!  You are also supposed to learn how to do research.  How are you going to function in the real world when you get out of school if you haven't learned how to think?
