What is beneath the Ancient Egyptian Sphinx?

Nothing.  The Sphinx is a large limestone bolder that was carved with the famous face and paws.  There is NOTHING under it except maybe bedrock.

the whole structure was a rock that was carved into this shape.

it is supposed to be mysterious .

recently , they have detected water collected from nearby waterways that were covered with earth .

they are treating this threat .
