some of the early anthropologists in australia and melanesia claimed that the people there did not associate s*x with procreation but their claims did not hold up to further examination. this piece of knowledge must be very ancient indeed among humans. and when you consider that jane goodall, the ethologist who studied chimpanzees for 30 years in the wild, has claimed that she has observed incest behavior among chimps. the theory of evolution postulates that chimps and humans share a common ancestor back some 5 million years. does the knowledge that s*x is associated with procreation go back that far? intriguing speculation...

I read about one culture, which wasn't so ancient, that believed when a woman's belly started growing, that was the time to really start having a lot of s*x...in order to feed the baby, and help it grow!
