Dinosaurs went extinct long before homo sapiens came onto the scene.  Modern technology makes me feel insecure.  It's a lot more powerful than a sabre tooth cat.

I would feel insecure too if every day I went out for a walk and was chased by a Saber Toothed Tiger. No i dont feel any better now.

Well, I don't have to dodge hungry dinosaurs on my way to work in the mornings - that's one good thing.

I don't have to hunt down and kill every meal I eat.  I can be a "gatherer" at the supermarket instead of a "hunter" out in the wilds.

When I come home in the evenings, the only thing waiting in my apartment that has fangs and claws is a purry little housecat - not a sabre-toothed monster.

A semi-firm mattress beats the heck out of an igneous rock slab for a comfortable night's sleep.

The morning weather and traffic reports do not include a list of which volcanoes are expected to erupt today and which trail may have its main pathway blocked by a fresh Mastondon carcass.

I can store my literary collection in a bookcase instead of a rock quarry.
