  1. I put my corn in a pot of boiling water (with a lid) and when it returns to a "light" boil, I time 2 minutes and then remove.  We're just cooking the corn, not the cob.  By not overcooking the corn itself, the flavor is much better and the corn more tender.  Also, NO SALT in the water!  Salting the water makes corn tough!

I know it sounds a little off the wall but since I've been cooking my corn this way, it's been much better!

  2. about 12 minutes from when it starts to boil.

I also add a little sugar (about a tsp) to the pot.

  3. perfect corn on the cob

remove the husk just before cooking. Removing the husk form the corn causes the sugar to brake down and sweetness and taste start to deteriorate. removing the husk at the grocery store affects the taste in a negative way.

    salted water

taste water to make sure there is enough salt.

add 2 tbsp sugar to 2 quarts of water ( helps to keep the corn sweet)

    bring water to boil

Add corn to water and boil for 4 minutes.

turn off heat and cover for 4 minutes

    remove and pat dry

    butter and salt

  4. It depends for how much the quantity.the lesser the quicker. And depend also the maturity if they are young and a kilo 10-15 minutes only if they are matured enough and a kilo it takes hour.

  5. We bring the water to a boil(no salt or sugar), add the corn, let it come to a boil again and let the corn cook for 3 1/2 minutes. Then we drain it and add lots of butter, salt and pepper and chow down!

  6. Only boil for 5 min. if you cook to long to corn gets hard.
