Livepool’s official website has revealed which player was awarded the club’s title of Young Player of the Year with Martin Kelly, Jonjo Shelvey and Jordan Henderson all in the mix.
The Reds may have had a campaign to forget in the Barclays Premier League but they had two very decent runs in the Carling and FA Cup, reaching the final of both tournaments and winning the League Cup. The trophy happened to be the club’s first piece of silverware for over six years.
The end of the season saw the club’s owners part ways with Kenny Dalglish and are currently interviewing a number of candidates as they look to find the next manager of Liverpool Football Club.
A season is defined by performances and, while a number of senior players disappointed, there was plenty of promise from the younger members of the squad. The club’s official website opened a poll for fans to cast their votes on who they thought was the club’s Young Player of the Season and the candidates were: Jonjo Shelvey, Jordan Henderson, Martin Kelly and Sebastian Coates.
