Anderlecht striker Romelu Lukaku’s agent confirms star still available, linked with top European sides
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Romelu-Lukaku-c31672, the 17-year-old Anderlecht star’s agent confirmed that a number of clubs were interested in signing the Belgian striker.
As the summer transfer window approaches, the speculation surrounding the highly rated teenager increases. He has been linked to a host of clubs already, with rumours suggesting he had already agreed to personal terms with a certain London based English
Premier League side.
Lukaku was quick to deny the rumours, his post on his Twitter account read, “Rumours are not always true people, so no questions about those rumours of Chelsea.”
Even though he has denied the link with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 for now, the Blues are reportedly still very much in the race for signing the Anderlecht star.
Recent reports have linked him to a move to Serie A side AS Roma, his representative Christophe Henrotay failed to confirm the rumours.
He said, “I do not know anything about the alleged interest of Roma. It is all speculation as far as I am concerned. I cannot confirm or deny whether the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 directors have set their sights on Romelu.”
He did however admit most of the European clubs and Premier League sides were chasing the 17-year-old for a summer move.
He continued, “I can confirm that the clubs from the Premier League are sitting in pole position to secure the services of Romelu. It is not true that he has already agreed terms with one squad in particular, though.”
Like his client, Henrotay claimed they had not agreed terms with a team despite reports claiming that they had.
According to the young striker’s agent he was too expensive a signing for Barcelona, which is why the La Liga giants had turned their attention elsewhere.
He said, “If Romelu only cost six million, then he would have gone there (to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604). The problem is that for many clubs, he has been too expensive.”
With the amount of interest in the player, he is expected to start a bidding war in the summer and is expected to fetch much more than the £6 million price tag placed on him.
