Anders Lindegaard delighted with first-team football as Manchester United player
Manchester United keeper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Anders-Lindegaard-c5553 has gone on to state that he is highly delighted with the fact that he finally received first-team action with the Red Devils.
The keeper was asked to play as the team’s first choice on their pre-season tour of the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/New-England-Revolution-c40026. The keeper was part of the team that went on to win by four goals to one.
The keeper when talking about his first-team opportunity is quoted to have said: “It is nice to start the new season with a new game and it is nice to play the first game of course"
However, with the season set to start soon, the keeper is bound to face competition from one of United’s latest signings, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-de-Gea-c10463. The Spaniard was signed by the Red Devils, in order to replace Edwin Van Der Sar at the club and in doing so, they have
gone on to add more competition at the club, for the number one jersey.
Lindegaard seems to actually be looking forward to this competition, as he feels it will not only make him better, but will also make the team much better in the process.
He then went on to add: “That is how should be"
"It will make ourselves better and it will heighten the quality for the whole team. In the end it's all about the team, it’s about being as good as possible for the team.”
Lindegaard’s performances, despite being rather good, do not ensure him a starting role at Old Trafford. The keeper is well aware of the fact that De Gea is more than likely to get the nod over him. However, should he be able to impress for the remainder
of the pre-season, then he might just end up getting his opportunity in the lime light.
Another player who seems to be fancying the upcoming competition at the club, is Manchester United striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736. The forward is well aware of the fact that a host of forwards are set to return to the club and instead of being disappointed, the striker
is actually looking forward to that.
When talking about his upcoming competition, Rooney is quoted to have said: “It is exciting"
"Everyone needs to be at the top of their game to keep their place on the team."
The way things are shaping up, Old Trafford is looking to be the place to be. The Red Devils are looking stronger than they have ever been in the past and with everyone now looking to fight for their spot in the team, it is almost unimaginable to think about
the chaos the team is going to unleash this coming season.
