Anders Olssen and Mirjam de Koning Peper outshine in Paralympic events – Dutch Open LC Championships
Anders Olssen of Sweden and Mirjam de Koning Peper of Oceanus outshined in Paralympic events of Men’s 100m freestyle and Women’s 100m freestyle, respectively on day three of the 2011 Dutch Open Long Course Championships in Eindhoven on Sunday, December 4th.
At first, Olssen of S6 category clinched the title of Men’s 100m discipline by submitting a top ranked time of 1 minute and 09.43 seconds for gold medal. He was trailed by France’s Sami El Gueddari of S9 category, who followed him on the podium for silver
medal by clocking a wonderful effort of 59.35 seconds.
The third fastest spot of the race was claimed by El Gueddari’s team-member, Charles Rozoy of S8 category, who reached the podium for bronze medal by posting an admiring time of 1 minute and 03.33 seconds.
In the meantime, Daniel Simon of NPC Germany, who has the disability category of S13, emerged on the finishing wall for fourth fastest spot of the race. Simon concluded his swim in a fourth fastest time of 56.80 seconds for fourth position. He was trailed
by Mike vd Zanden of EIFFELswimmersPSV, who ended his sprint in a time of 56.77 seconds for fifth position.
Subsequently, Koning Peper of S6 category earned the title of equivalent event in Women’s category. She posted a miraculous effort of 1 minute and 16.11 seconds to pocket gold medal of the event. She was trailed by France’s Elodie Lorandi of S10, who earned
silver medal of the event by reporting a time of 1 minute and 02.19 seconds.
Meanwhile, the third spot of the race was seized by Eleanor Simmonds of Great Britain, who completed her swim in a terrific time of 1 minute and 17.02 seconds for bronze medal. she was followed by Kirsten Bruhn of NPC Germany and Maja Reichard of Sweden,
who occupied fourth and fifth positions with timings of 1:16.15 and 1:14.33 minutes, respectively.
Furthermore, the session ended after the scintillating efforts of all position holders in their respective events. In addition, the winners were called upon the victory stand for their ruthless efforts after the conclusion of the championship.
