Anderson: Cook better than Kevin Pietersen

Cook has batted exceptionally well in the Ashes series and has managed to make number of centuries in the series. His double ton in Brisbane came at the right time for England as England was under a lot of pressure to cover a deficit of 221 runs in their second
innings.
Kevin Pietersen was another batsman who was under a lot of pressure before the Ashes series and had to prove his form with the bat in the series. Pietersen came to his best in the Adelaide Test and managed to score a double ton for England. After his double
ton in Adelaide, he started playing much better cricket than before and managed to score runs at a more rapid pace. Both the batsmen have batted well in the series but Cook has been the batsman who has scored more runs in the series.
James Anderson was of the view that Alastair Cook is probably more talented than Kevin Pietersen. There is this thought within the cricket circles of England that Alastair Cook is probably the more consistent batsmen than Pietersen and delivers for his
country when it is required from him.
James Anderson was of the view that Kevin Pietersen is a gifted player who finds it easy to play in his natural style. It is no doubt that Kevin Pietersen is a truly gifted player who has the ability and capacity to change a game in a pretty quick succession.
But his form is one thing that always remains a question as he is not the most consistent player in the English side and can be vulnerable early in his innings.
James Anderson was of the view that Alastair Cook relies a lot on his stroke play and has a lot of mental toughness to carry him through in his innings. Anderson praised Cook’s form in the Ashes series and said that Cook has batted fantastically in the series
and has silenced the critics who questioned his form before the series. Anderson further said that Cook has truly shown his class in the Ashes series and he has also shown his form as a player in an efficient manner. Anderson said that Cook has a strong character
and English team was always confident that Cook would perform his best in the Ashes series.
