Anderson Silva: I am going to beat Chael like he has never been beaten before – UFC News
UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva lashed out on his UFC 148 opponent Chael Sonnen like he has never done before. Silva’s comments regarding Sonnen were shocking, not only to the fans but also to the UFC officials, including but not limited to UFC
President Dana White.
During the press conference held for UFC 148, Anderson Silva, for the first time in his career, participated in the war of words initiated by Sonnen. When asked, Silva said, “First of all, Chael is a criminal. He's been convicted of crimes. He doesn't deserve
to be inside the octagon. And when the time comes and the time is right, I'm going to break his face and break every one of his teeth in his mouth.”
While everyone thought this was all Silva had to say, the champion went on, “I'm going to beat Chael like he's never been beaten before. The joke is over. There's no more talking. I know he's on the line listening, and the game is over. I'm going to beat
his a*s out of the UFC. He's never going to want to fight again after I'm done with him.”
While talking about Sonnen’s defeat at UFC 117, Silva called Sonnen a person who lives in the past and so he should be placed in a museum not inside the octagon. It should be noted here that Sonnen has said enough about Silva’s performance at UFC 117. According
to Sonnen, he had beaten the ‘h**l out of’ Silva but just the last minute submission got him victorious.
Both the fighters are scheduled to meet at UFC 148, in probably what is being called the biggest rematch of MMA history.
In their previous encounter, most analysts considered Sonnen the dominating force inside the octagon. Silva looked intimidated and less than his usual self. When his knockout strategies did not work, he used a submission move to make Sonnen tap out just
seconds before the fight ended. Sonnen had 4 rounds of the show and only if he had beaten the submission he could have won. Silva has vowed to put up a better fight this time against Sonnen.
